MySpace Hoax

The MySpace hoax was one of the most terrible acts of online bullying. Any adult who is child enough to play on thirteen year old girl’s insecurities deserves to get criminal charges pressed agented them. Online bullying is probably worst than being physically bullied, the mental abuse the young girl was going though was so bad she felt she has to take her own life to end the pain. I truly believe whatever Lori Drew (the mother who set up the fictional sight) gets as a sentence is too good for her. Lori Drew at max will spend a few years in jail and pay a fine but the Meier’s (the parents of the victim Megan Meier) will never get their little girl back. The pleasures in life that parents look forward to such as their child graduation from school, getting married, and even having kids they will never get and nothing that will ever happen in their lives will ever bring that back. Just like in the movie Ascents of Mauls I feel the same way the newspaper reporter setup Michael Aglitter the mother Lori Drew setup Megan Meier. With the story coming out in the newspaper that Michael had something to do with the disappears of a public figure named Diaz, it completely ruined Michaels reputation he was an innocent man who’s family use to be involved in organized crime. The way that Lori Drew used the internet to slander and embarrass Megan Meier she said things like “The world would be a better place without you in it.” Knowing the that Megan Meier had suffered with weight issues as well as ADD Lori Drew know that saying these type of things to Megan would cut her deep. In all anyone who puts information out on someone or does anything to hurt someone in a mental or physical way should have criminal charges brought against them.
